Poland - Jams, jellies, marmalades and sweetened chestnut purée labeling: health claims

Amendment to the regulation on the commercial quality of jams, jellies, marmalades and sweetened chestnut purée
Mérieux_NutriSciences_Polonia_Marmellata

The term ‘low sugar’ (PL ‘niskosłodzony’) will no longer be allowed on fruit jams, jellies, marmalades and sweetened chestnut purée as it does not meet requirements of a nutrition claim ‘low sugars’ (PL ‘o niskiej zawartości cukru’).

Fruit jams, jellies and marmalades and sweetened chestnut purée intended for human consumption can be produced in accordance with current specific commercial quality requirements and may be labelled as ‘reduced sugar’ (PL ‘o obniżonej zawartości cukru’) only if they meet the established requirements for ‘reduced’ (PL ‘o obniżonej zawartości’) nutrition claim.

The Regulation entered into force on 2 November 2017.
