According to EFSA’s experts, the number of Salmonella related illness cases remains high. Plus, the declining trend had leveled off during the past few years. Consumption of food products of plant origin (e.g. fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds), among others, represent a substantial risk of Salmonella infection
