Japan – A law to promote the export of food products
Japanese government willing to support the expansion of exports
Last November 27th, the law no. 57 on the promotion of the export of agricultural, forestry and fishery products was published. Its purpose is to institute a system to smoothly trade with foreign countries and make the certification process easier to export Japanese products.
The country is going to set up a department for exporting agricultural, forestry and fishery products by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, and its first task will concern the creation of a plan to promote export. Certificated export projects can finally receive financial support from the government. The law will enter into force on April 1st, 2020
