Belarus - Food safety doctrine approved
The government of Belarus recently approved the national food safety doctrine valid until 2030. The document was adopted to implement state policy in the field of national food safety and aims at improving the safety of food quality and its availability through a greater development of agricultural production and the creation of socio-economic conditions for the consumption of food products at a rational level.
To achieve these targets, a sustainable development of the national production of the main agricultural products, raw materials and foodstuffs is required to guarantee self-sufficiency and the potential implementation of agri-food export to obtain a high level of public safety and quality of food products in quantity. The timely detection, assessment and forecasting of both internal and external threats to food safety also becomes right and proper.
