India – Record of grain production
Increase of 4% compared to 4 years ago
The Indian Union Agriculture Minister stated last April that Government’s policy initiatives in last three years have led to record grain production in 2017/2018.
The total grain production in the country stood at 275.68 million tons in 2017-18, which is about 10.64 million tons (4 percent) more than what was produced in 2013-14. In terms of average per year, the production of grain is 19 tons more than the average recorded between 2011-12 and 2015-16.
