In July, the Peruvian Congress issued a new law (No. 30988 of 2019) to prevent food waste and reduce it at all stages of the primary production process.
The promotion and coordination actions are carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture in coordination with the sectors involved and according to their competence and budget. The purpose is to promote training activities to implement good food management practices at local, regional and national level. Specific actions will be envisaged for the private sector and for the final consumer, as well as for improving the scientific and technological capacity useful for these purposes.
