Korea – News in the “Drinking Water Management Act”
The Korean Ministry of Environment has amended the Enforcement Decree of the Drinking Water Management Act and announced that it will be allowed to produce beverages such as coffee and fruit drinks in addition to carbonated water in the drinking spring water plant since mid-January.
However, in order to prevent the food or food additives from being mixed with the drinking spring water, beverage mixing and bottling process facilities are separately installed in the spaces separated from the drinking spring production facilities. The Ministry of Environment hoped that the regulation of entry of related beverage industry would improve due to the establishment of a beverage manufacturing facility in the drinking spring water manufacturing plant.
