Japan - Food export is increasing
The Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries published the results of exports of agricultural, forestry, fishery and food products in 2017. Total exports amounted to 807,300 million yen (equivalent to about €6,033,760,000), an increase of 7.6% over the previous year. In the last five years, the figure has always been growing.
In detail, agricultural products registered exports of 496,800 million yen (equal to about € 3,730,471,000), 8.1% increase; forestry products 35,500 million yen (equal to about € 266,569,500), 32.3% increase; fisheries products 275,000 million yen (equal to about € 2,066,625,000), 4.2% increase.
The largest export was to Hong Kong, followed by the USA, China, Taiwan and South Korea.
