China will accept these new materials as food contact materials or additives

From May 31th, 2016, in accordance with Food Safety Law, China government has passed a new announcement that assessed by invited experts from National Health and Family Planning Commission of the People’s Republic of China.

In this announcement, 23 new materials can be used within certain scope and amount limits, including 17 food contact material additives and 6 food contact resins.

The additives are Poly(12-hydroxystearic acid) stearate which is used in plastics, paints and inks with maxim content to 0.1%; 1-Propanaminium, N,N,N-trimethyl-3-[(1-oxo-2-propen-l-yl)amino]-, chloride (1:1), polymer with ethenamine, hydrochloride which is used in paper with maxim content to 0.15%(dry base); Polyethylene Glycol 600 Polyhydroxystearate which used in plastic with maxim content to 0.02%(PET) and 0.01%(other plastics); Trihydroxy polyoxypropylene ether which is used in adhesive with no limit content; 1,4-benzenedicarboxylic acid, polymer with 2-methyl-1,3-propanediol,decanedioic acid,1,3-benzenedicarboxylic acid and 1,2-ethanediol which are used in paints with no limit content; Magnesium Nitrate which is used in paper with maxim content to 0.005%; Alcohols, C10-C16, ethoxylated which is used in paper with no limit content; Alcohols, C12-C15, ethoxylated which is used in paper with no limit content; 5-norbornene-2,3-dicarboxylic anhydride which is used in paints with maxim content to 8.7%; 1,4-Benzenedicarboxylic acid, polymer with 1,3-benzenedicarboxylic acid,4,7-methanoisobenzofuran-1,3-dione, 3a,4,7,7a-tetrahydro-,1H,3H-benzo [1,2-c:4,5-c’]difuran-1,3,5,7-tetrone, 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol and 2-methyl-1,3-propanediol which are used in paints with no limit content; Sodium 1,4-dicylcohexyl sulfosuccinate  which is used in paper with no limit content; Reaction product of 2-ethylhexylglycidyl ether with polyethylene glycol which is use in paper with maxim limit content to 0.071%.

The new resins are 2-Propenenitrile, polymer with 1,1- dichloroethene; 2-Propenoic acid, 2-methyl-, methyl ester, polymer with 1,1- dichloroethene; 2-Propenoic acid, 2-methyl-, methyl ester, polymer with 1,1- dichloroethene and 2-methyl-2- propenenitrile; 2-Propenoic acid, 2-methyl-, polymer with ethenylbenzene; 1,4-Benzenedicarboxylic acid, polymer with 5-amino-1,3,3’-trimethyl-cyclohexanemethanamine and hexahydro-2H-azepin-2-one; 1,3-Benzenedicarboxylic acid, polymer with azacyclotridecan-2-one and 4,4'-methylenebis[2-methylcyclohexanamine].
