EU - Record export performance for agri-food products
With 13.1 billion euros, exports to the agri-food sector of the European Union are the highest ever recorded. The previous record was set in March 2017, now exceeded + 2.9%.
Imports also increased by 5% (compared to October 2017) and the monthly surplus of agri-food trade was 3 billion euro, with an increase of 13% from October 2017 and the second largest surplus recorded.
These are the main results of the last monthly commercial report published by the European Commission.
Data by sector indicate an increase in the value of imports of cocoa and cereal seeds, while imports of coffee and palm oil have decreased.
