The export of Japanese beef to Australia was banned in 2001 due to BSE. After a long confrontation between the Japanese Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fishing and the Australian Government, an agreement has been now reached and since May 29, 2018 it is once again possible for Japanese companies to export to Australia.

In Argentina, it has never been possible to export fresh meat before now. The negotiations with the Argentine government had reopened in 2015 and from 29 June 2018, it is finally possible to export fresh beef to the South American country.
