The list of protected food products is enriched with 3 new goods

The Geographical Indication (GI) was established in Japan to protect the foods or products of agriculture, forestry, fishery that are produced in a specific Japanese region following a traditional method.

The "Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries" said in a recent statement that 3 new goods were added to the GI list: "Tokyo Shamo" (chicken), "Sayo Mochidai-zu” (soy) and “Iburigakko " (pickles). Thanks to this new product, the total amount of Japanese foods marked as GI are now 79.
