Korea – Measures to prevent the African Swine Fever

Improvement of general inspections to search illegal livestock products
Mérieux NutriSciences_AnimalFeed

Currently, African swine fever continues to occur in Asian countries such as China and Vietnam.
Accordingly, the International Cooperation Agency of MAFRA (Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs) has extended the inspection to search illegal livestock products owned by foreign travelers, strengthened border inspection and have been carrying out various pre-public relations activities in order to prevent the inflow of the African Swine Fever (ASF).

In case of not reporting livestock products carried by overseas travelers, the standard penalties for violation raise from 5,000,000 won to a maximum of 10,000,000 won (entry into force June 1).
