France - Beer: rules updated
French Decree 2016-1531 published last November 15th on the composition and labeling of brewing products updated Decree no. 92-307 dd. May 31st, 1992 to adapt the rules to market changes.
The new Decree updates some designations and defines new ones. It allows the addition of ingredients of vegetal origin in few types of beer. The list of such authorized ingredients will be fixed by a next Ministerial Order. The beer placed on the market or labeled before 1 January 2017 and complying with the rules in force until that date may be sold until stocks last.
The new rule come into force on January 1, 2017.
